607 posts · Joined 2015. #9 · Jun 3, 2017. It would crank, but would not allow the fuel system to run once you started turning over the engine. Put the key in - it would prime the fuel rails, but once you pushed the start button, the fuel pump would stop.

EDIT: the pic you post has a part nbr (61358364175) that when pulled up says that it is a starter INTERLOCK relay for the e36/e34/e31. I don't think it is the same thing as what I looked up below.
