Same problem. Thought it was a problem on my end. Could not join any games & no one ever joined me. Just finished the SP & now it's been uninstalled. Dead Island was fun, Riptide is just a meh game. Should have been a DLC & not a standalone title. Sacred 2 was Deepsilver right? THAT game is great. (Off topic sry)

Repair Game Files. A corrupted or missing games files on the PC can eventually trigger multiple issues with the game launching or performance whatsoever. To do so: Open the Epic Games Launcher > Click on Library. Click on the three-dots icon of Dead Island 2. Click on Verify, and it’ll start verifying the game files.
Not about to do any of this though. Safe mode cannot run the game because the renderer is not active. Steam verify was done two emails. Steam would have nothing to do with this issue and i'm not about to delete my steam files. Of the 300+ games working on my computer this is the only game causing trouble and it's only one scene in the game.
It some times take 20-35 seconds before someone from Hamatchi will show up. But it does work. Make sure your connected on LAN (hamatchi), set your in game connection via the options menu to LAN, bring up the lobby and let it search (not friends list) and you should see each other. Hope that helps.
