Verse11. - To him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. This doxology occurs also in 1 Peter 4:11, where see notes. The best manuscripts omit the word " glory" in this place. St. Peter has been directing the thoughts of his readers to the power of God. He will make them perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle them; he can, for "his isAspirit of humility is pleasing to the Father, for it is the spirit that is so representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ was a man that humbled Himself, in the power of the Holy Spirit, under the mighty hand of the Father, and at the proper time He was lifted up; first on the Cross, and then to His Father's throne, in heavenly places.
